Karnataka Police Constable Notification 2026
The Karnataka State Police has issued Notification No. 04/Recruitment-5(A)/2026-27 for 1600 armed police constable vacancies. The notification contains vacancy details, eligibility conditions, exam pattern, physical standards and application instructions. The recruitment has been announced for two separate cadres. Out of the total 1600 vacancies, 179 posts belong to the Kalyana Karnataka (Hyderabad-Karnataka) region, and 1421 posts belong to the Residual Cadre across different districts and units of Karnataka.

Candidate Eligibility Details
Applicants must have passed PUC/12th Standard or an equivalent qualification from a recognised board before the last date of application.
Educational Qualification:
- PUC (Pre-University Course) or 12th Standard pass
- CBSE Class 12 examination
- ISC Class 12 examination
- State Board Class 12 examination
- NIOS Senior Secondary Course
- Equivalent qualification recognized by the Government
- Two-year ITI candidates with required language and academic subjects
Kannada Language Requirement:
- Kannada studied as first language in SSLC or equivalent
- Kannada studied as second language in SSLC or equivalent
- Kannada medium education
- Passed compulsory Kannada language examination conducted by a competent authority
Age Criteria:
- The minimum age limit is 18 years.
- For General Merit (Male), the minimum age limit is 33 years.
- For SC/ST/Cat-1/2A/2B/3A the minimum age limit is 35 years.
- For a tribal candidate, they must be 38 years old.
- For ex-servicemen, additional relaxation as per rules
How Selection is Done
Selection will be based on a written examination followed by PST, PET, medical examination and document verification. The written examination is conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) which includes Objective-type questions, Total Questions: 100, Total Marks: 100, Duration: 90 Minutes, Negative (KEA),ng: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer and Unanswered Questions: 0.25 marks ded100.on.
